What a Day!
Got up at 5
Did the basic workout and stretching while calculating and calibrating the rest of my day.
Did I mention I woke up before my alarm went off? Yup. I did.
I was sure this was gonna be my day. Had three exams lined up with intervals just shy of being facetious. Had prepared fairly well for them and now had got up even early which left me with ample time to brush up some last moment arduous topics.
First exam went better than expected. It was an online exam with 100 artful clinical questions.
With such a good start I was happy and confident for my remaining examinations.
And just an hour before my next scheduled exam my WIFI crashed.
Alackaday!!
I behaved in a way which would justify my age - I panicked!!
Ran down the stairs to the small shop across the street - CLOSED. And so were the three other shops on my street. Then I chose the lifeline any person stuck in such a pickle would choose - Phone a Friend!!
It worked. My friend was more than receptive and I answered the rest of my exams without any hindrance. After I got back, the WIFI still wasn't working and so was my mind.
WHAT ON EARTH WOULD I DO NOW?
Generally it's either Netflix or Amazon or some social media platform. I hadn't trained myself for this day.
So here I was with my laptop and cellphone but no internet.
I wanted to whine about bad things happening to me but the people who would normally listen to it were sitting miles away from me probably unaware of my afflictions.
So I picked up some old books lying around and catching dust, read though a couple of pages, went to the rooftop, felt that cool breeze while listening to some previously downloaded mild orange tracks and unconsciously grooving to it.
Hell I even sang some classic oldies and recorded myself(which was not a good idea).
I came down, stirred up some good old Indian recipes(not curry) I inherited from my mom.
I ended up having an amazing dinner with a good read along with completing my syllabus for the next day and still going to bed on time(which is not normal for a medicine student).
I ended up having one of the best days I had during this whole lock-down.
Which led me to think, have been drawn so much into our gadgets and other technologies that we have forgotten living the good ol' life?
When was the last time you went offline for 24 hours without having an anxiety attack?
When was the last time you went to bed satisfied with accomplishing your To-do list?
When was the last time you smiled glancing through those pictures you took at the prom photo-booth and remembering all those crazy stories?
When was the last time you treated yourself right?
When was the last time you treated your body right?
I'm not blaming the technology nor am I blaming us. The world around us needs us to be updated with the technology, but we should still not let it make us forget how to live and enjoy the small pleasantries that we come across everyday!
And you know what the real cliche is?
I'm publishing this on a social media platform!
Have a great day ahead.
And yes please do smile, because you look beautiful when you do!

Wonderful! Waiting for the next one...😊have a great day ahead.
